I finally got a picture up of my ruddy bowling pin I painted this last year for Luxe DeVil - the gallery that's always oh so kind enough to schlub my work onto their walls so that discerning drunks on the Santa Fe artwalk can buy it. The ladies there are the classiest you'll meet though so if you're a local get your trouser hams over there. Trouser hams. Sweet meats. Turd Cannon. Is this getting awkward yet?
Anyways - I hadn't painted with acrylic in like 10 years. I remembered I liked it, and I was happy to try my hand at it again. Unfortunately for my nerd ego, painting on a bowling pin is like 200% harder than painting on canvas. I literally painted over every idea I had. Finally I kinda threw up my hands and just did something lovely and simple. A little Sin City-ish with some Red Dead Redemption thrown in. I thought about doing more on the top of the pin but I had already wanted to throw the thing out the window of my apartment long before this so I thought... nah, I'll just go ahead and paint it black.
And it sold well, people liked it and I got a lot of love at the show. It was balls hot cause it was in July or something. nearly melted into oblivion - luckily there was beer close.
