A Ghost from Britania

Description

Just the beginning of the season, and here's a new ghost.

Excerpt taken from Her Majesty's Royal Spectral Analysis Scripts of Lord Charles T. Humbleotten, c. 1924.

She had been on one of two lifeboats that escaped the HMHS Britannic. Now being that it was a Naval first aid transport during The Great War just wasn't enough danger. No no, you see fair denizen, Britannic was the sister ship to our doomed Lady HMS Titanic. They had loaded her with lifeboats after Titanic met her foul end, (as well as a reinforced hull) and she was running the wounded to safe points. Unfortunately there was some discussion she was also carrying munitions so this made her a target of German U-Boats, (some say a mine, but bully that... we all know it was the rotten Germans) and they sure got her one fateful day in the sea off of Italy. Apparently some filthy Austrian toe rag decided to rat us out to the Germans, friendly citizens. A sad state of affairs to say the least.

Two lifeboats had descended when the Captain made the decision to try and run the boat aground to save her. Unfortunately he had no idea that these boats were down and as the boat proceeded to give it the go... well the propellers were up in the air and sucked the two boats in. Some were fortunate to survive.

And some like our lady here were not.

Further complicating the matter is that this woman is not dressed in Naval attire. No she reflects the glory and decadence of the day. So bearing this attire... why indeed would she have been on a boat meant to transport wounded ships? That mystery, my friends, is literally lost to the seas of time. As for the HMHS Britannic she shortly met her fate as well. Suffering a cruel copycat fate of her sister Titanic. You see despite the reinforcements, her hull still filled with water on the starboard side of the ship. Soon all the bulkheads were filled and she disappeared into the depths. A wretched fate to be sure. Thankfully the ship was full and nowhere near as many of Britain's finest perished as had they on her sister.

But be weary of the dead that remain trapped in their underwater grave should you decide to venture to the wreck yourself. You may find yourself face to face with one of the victims of the propeller massacre like our poor lady here. That is... if you can find it.
